Revenue and margin decline drives Pernod Ricard shares lower
Pernod Ricard reported net sales for fiscal year 2026 fell to €9.40bn (prior year €10.96bn, -14.2% reported; organic -3.9%). Recurring operating profit declined organically by 5.2% to €2.42bn and the operating margin fell 35 basis points to 25.8%. Sharp sales drops in the US (-14%) and China (-19%), weakness at the cognac brand Martell, and the end of merger talks with Brown-Forman weighed on the stock, which fell about 5.7% to €63.76 and moved closer to its 52-week low. » More on de.investing.com

Pernod Ricard faces $314 million tax demand in India
Indian investigators are demanding a $314 million payment from Pernod Ricard, accusing the group of concealing information about Scotch whisky imports to avoid high duties. Pernod Ricard denies the allegations, stresses compliance and is fighting the case in court; the proceedings have been ongoing since 2014. If it loses a legal battle, penalties and additional payments could exceed $600 million, roughly one-fifth of last year’s sales in India. The company also faces other proceedings in India, including an antitrust case and a sales ban in New Delhi. » More on kurier.at
