Prothena promotes Annie Kingston to chief strategy officer and Michael Isaacs to general counsel
Prothena has appointed Annie Kingston as chief strategy officer with immediate effect; Michael Isaacs will become general counsel and corporate secretary in June following the departure of Michael Malecek. Both will join the leadership team and report to CEO Gene Kinney; Kingston will lead growth strategy, and Isaacs will head the legal department. Prothena launches $100 million share buyback program
Prothena’s board has approved a repurchase program to buy up to $100 million of its common stock. As of December 31, 2025, the biotech had cash of $308.4 million and no debt; without buybacks Prothena expects to have about $255 million in cash at the end of 2026. Potential clinical milestone payments of up to $105 million from partners (including Novo Nordisk and Bristol Myers Squibb) are not included in this forecast.
