Corel to be split: Vector Capital takes over creative software, Parallels stays with KKR
Software provider Corel/Alludo will be divided into two independent companies. Vector Capital will acquire the creative and productivity software business (including CorelDraw Graphics Suite, Painter, PaintShop Pro, VideoStudio, MindManager, WinZip), while the virtualization unit Parallels will remain with current owner KKR. Parallels CEO Christa Quarles will stay in her role; Prasannaa Ganesan will lead the future Corel. The transaction is expected to close in May 2026; the purchase price was not disclosed.
