Akanda Corp postpones extraordinary general meeting to November 28
Akanda Corp said the extraordinary general meeting originally scheduled for October 30 has been adjourned to November 28. The postponement, along with the original notice (September 29) and a proxy voting form, were filed with the SEC on November 5. Akanda places convertible notes of up to $12m to strengthen balance sheet
Akanda Corp completed a private placement of convertible notes of up to $12m with institutional investors. Proceeds are to be used, among other things, for up to $3.5m for marketing, up to $3m for working capital and up to $7m for debt reduction. The financing comes at a critical time amid a weak financial position and a negative EBITDA of -$4.36m; the convertible notes have a 12-month term.
