Arm stock falls after two analyst downgrades and valuation concerns
Arm shares fell about 5.8% intraday after brief selling pressure triggered by two analyst downgrades within days. HSBC downgraded on July 14 from Buy to Hold but raised the price target from 255 to 315 USD, and Benchmark also set a Hold on July 15. Investors are worried about the extremely high valuation (triple‑digit P/E), potential supply shortages of the new AGI CPU and the small margin for error ahead of the July 29 quarterly results. Weaker Nasdaq trading and a drop in SoftBank shares intensified the selling momentum. » Más en de.investing.com
Masayoshi Son predicts tenfold increase in Arm valuation due to CPU boom in data centers
SoftBank chief Masayoshi Son said Arm could rise from about $391 billion today to nearly $4 trillion thanks to a CPU boom for agent-based AI. He cites growing demand for powerful, energy-efficient CPUs acting as coordinators in AI data centers; Arm CEO Rene Haas sees CPU demand more than quadrupling by 2030. Son also defended the $2 billion investment in Intel and called the company a US security asset, while the shares of the two firms reacted differently. Analysts warn of high valuation premiums for Arm and emphasize that Intel’s operational turnaround and foundry business still need to be scrutinized. » Más en finanzen.net
Arm: CEO says export ban on AI-capable CPUs to China would be hardly enforceable
Arm CEO Rene Haas said an export ban on AI-capable CPUs to China would be practically impossible to enforce because such processors are widely distributed and it is difficult to distinguish general-purpose from AI-specific processors. Haas emphasized that it is hard to define performance and memory limits for CPUs, which would require broad restrictions. At the same time Arm announced two major customers for its AGI-CPU (ByteDance and Oracle Financial Software) and sees rising demand; the company is targeting about $15 billion in annual data-center revenue within five years. » Más en de.investing.com
