Atlas Copco rises to 52-week high after strong quarterly results
Atlas Copco's stock jumped intraday by around 5.5% to reach a 52-week high of 200 SEK before stabilizing at about 197.2 SEK. The move was driven by Q2 results and a subsequent conference call with CEO Vagner Rego and CFO Peter Kinnart. Handelsbanken confirmed its buy recommendation and raised the price target to 220 SEK; 14 of 15 tracked analysts recommend buying. Atlas Copco: currency losses weigh on revenue despite strong organic growth
Atlas Copco reported Q1 2026 organic order intake growth of 5% and organic revenue growth of 3%, but was hit by a negative currency effect of 11% in Swedish krona, so reported revenue fell to 40,540 MSEK. Operating profit was 8,261 MSEK with a margin of 20.4% (+30 basis points), and earnings per share fell to 1.28 SEK. Vacuum Technology grew particularly strongly (+32% organic) and contributed to margin improvements, while Compressor Technique and Industrial Technique were weaker. Operating cash flow fell sharply from 6,575 to 4,355 MSEK, weighed down by working capital build-up. Atlas Copco confirms growth targets at capital markets day
At the capital markets day, Atlas Copco reiterated its financial targets and expects customer activity in the fourth quarter to be at the level of the third quarter. The service business continues to grow solidly and generates higher margins than new equipment, while the equipment business is currently weak. Management sees long-term organic growth of around 5%, supplemented by M&A to reach an overall growth target of 8%.
