BlackSky has been selected as the exclusive supplier of electro-optical satellites for a 50-satellite constellation being developed as part of a $1 billion investment. BlackSky has won several US research and development contracts to develop AI-based automated target recognition and damage assessment systems to be integrated into the Gen-3 satellite architecture. The systems are designed for real-time intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations; one contract includes classified workflows for object and identity recognition. The Gen-3 constellation will deliver 35-centimeter resolution with onboard AI analytics.
