DEFSEC Technologies announced the closing of a private placement in which 1,951,219 common shares were issued at C$2.84 per share, together with pre-funded warrants and accompanying warrants. Each purchase warrant entitles the holder to acquire one share within 60 months at C$3.30; pre-funded warrants are exercisable at C$0.001. H.C. Wainwright & Co. acted as exclusive placement agent; DEFSEC raised approximately C$5.54 million gross before fees and paid a cash commission of 7.5% plus agent warrants (7.5% of the units sold) with an exercise price of C$3.55. DEFSEC unveiled the Battlespace Laser Identification Sensor System (BLISS), a laser threat detection system designed for soldiers, vehicles and fixed infrastructure. The system expands the existing Battlefield Laser Detection System, detects laser threats, identifies sources and provides networked situational awareness; a provisional patent application has been filed for the technology. Initial prototype units are scheduled for delivery to the U.S. Army next month as part of a program, and accompanying software applications and integration plugins are in development.
