NextEra Energy secures financing for up to 10 GW of gas-fired power plants in Texas and Pennsylvania

NextEra Energy has reached agreements with the US Department of Commerce and the government of Japan that secure financing for the development and operation of up to 10 gigawatts of natural-gas-fired power capacity in Texas and Pennsylvania. The projects are part of Japan’s $550 billion investment pledge to the US; the first funding tranche of $3.3 billion is being released now and covers development tasks such as deposits for turbines and selection of EPC contractors.
