Shares of Vertical Aerospace dropped about 32% after the company announced financing commitments totaling $100 million. The package includes $40 million from Mudrick Capital (including an immediate tranche and accelerated drawdown), a guaranteed placement of $35 million at $1.05 per share, and $25 million from a preferred equity facility with Yorkville. The capital is intended to fund certification and commercialization of the Valo eVTOL platform, completion of the Critical Design Review, expansion of battery production and production sites in the UK. Mudrick’s support is based on a non-binding letter of intent; final agreements are still pending. Vertical Aerospace has signed a memorandum of intent with the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia to establish regulatory and operational foundations for Advanced Air Mobility and to review type certification for the Valo eVTOL model. The agreement includes exchange of technical expertise and certification practices with international authorities.
