vTv Therapeutics has submitted the protocol for a phase-2 study of Cadisegliatin as an add-on therapy to insulin for type 2 diabetes to the Abu Dhabi Department of Health. The 12-month, randomized study of about 300 insulin-dependent patients in the UAE, Jordan and Tunisia will compare once-daily 400 mg and 800 mg Cadisegliatin with placebo; first patient visit is expected in Q1 2026. vTv will act as regulatory sponsor and M42 will fund the study; Cadisegliatin is an orally available, liver-selective glucokinase activator with FDA Breakthrough Therapy designation and is being studied in a parallel phase-3 trial for type 1 diabetes.
