Alpek SAB de CV (A) reports sizable quarterly loss and revenue decline

Alpek SAB de CV (A) reported a loss per share of 0.54 MXN for the most recent quarter, compared with 0.080 MXN a year earlier. Alpek increases comparable EBITDA sequentially by 10% despite market overhang

Alpek reported comparable EBITDA of $137 million for Q3 2025, up 10% sequentially but down 37% year-on-year. The polyester segment benefited from an improved product mix and higher cost efficiency, while the plastics & chemicals segment was weighed down by a less favorable mix. Operating free cash flow rose to $68 million and net debt was reduced, though leverage remained at 4.0x (pro-forma 3.7x). Alpek: Fitch cuts outlook to negative, affirms BBB-

Fitch has cut Alpek’s outlook from stable to negative but affirmed the long-term rating at BBB-. The agency cited persistent pressure on profitability, an expected breach of the net debt to EBITDA ratio in 2025–2026, and structurally lower margins due to an oversupply of paraxylene and 10% US tariffs. Alpek plans cost reductions and expects positive free cash flow assuming no dividend payments. Dieses Segment bietet auch Polyesterfasern an, wie z.B. Stapelfasern zur Verwendung in Teppichen, Kleidungsstücken und Heimtextilien sowie Filamente für Kleidung, Autoinnenausstattung und Sicherheitsgurte sowie Leinwände, Förderbänder, Schläuche und andere industrielle Anwendungen. Das Segment Kunststoffe und Chemikalien stellt Polypropylen, expandierbares Polystyrol, Caprolactam und andere Chemikalien sowie Spezial- und Industriechemikalien für den Einsatz in der Konsumgüter-, Lebensmittel- und Getränkeverpackungs-, Automobil-, Bau-, Landwirtschafts-, Öl- und Pharmaindustrie her. Das Unternehmen wurde 1975 gegründet und hat seinen Sitz in San Pedro Garza García, Mexiko. Alpek, S.A.B. de C.V. ist eine Tochtergesellschaft von Alfa, S. A. B. de C. V.
