Ascent Resources loses arbitration case against Slovenia and must pay €3 million in costs

An international arbitral tribunal unanimously dismissed all claims by Ascent Resources and Ascent Slovenia against the Republic of Slovenia. The dispute concerned regulatory measures around the Petišovci oil and gas field, including the 2022 ban on hydraulic stimulation. Ascent and its subsidiary were ordered to cover €3 million in procedural costs for the defendant; the arbitration award is final and binding. Ascent Resources secures 2.5–3.5% royalty on Utah-Brine project

Ascent Resources will receive a gross smelter licence royalty of 2.5% to 3.5% on gross revenues from lithium and potash products from the Utah-Brine project, whose exploration target has been defined by Neometals. The exact rate depends on the timing of the final investment decision. In addition, Ascent received 4,900,000 unlisted options on Neometals shares at 10 cents each with a three-year exercise period.
