Azimut reports record net inflows and strong profit growth, margins under pressure
Azimut recorded record net inflows of €4.6bn in Q1 2026 and assets under management of €144bn (+32% y/y). Recurring net profit rose 15% to €128m, revenue was €371m and recurring EBIT also grew 14%, while the net profit margin declined by 35 basis points. The company announced a capital return programme of around €1.3bn (including a €2.00 per share dividend and share buybacks) and confirmed its full-year targets: net inflows of €10bn and net profit of €550m. Azimut reports net inflows of €32bn for fiscal year 2025, assets under management of €145bn (+32%) and a 20% increase in recurring net profit. Reported group profit fell to €526m (previous year €568m) due to lower performance fees and one-off items. Management proposes a dividend of €2.00 per share and plans to return around 25% of market capitalization over the next 18 months, including the planned spin-off of TNB. Azimut shares fall 15% after uncovering governance shortcomings at subsidiary
The Bank of Italy found significant deficiencies in corporate governance and organization at subsidiary Azimut Management SGR. At Consob’s instigation, immediate and decisive corrective measures and the establishment of a governance and control structure commensurate with the operational complexity are required. The situation is currently insufficient to allow the SGR’s participation in major transactions such as mergers, acquisitions of stakes or company sales.
