Profit warning sends China National Building Material shares sharply lower

China National Building Material’s stock fell 10.5% to HK$3.85 after a profit warning for the first half of 2026. The company expects an unaudited shareholder loss of about RMB 890 million for the six months to June 30, 2026, compared with a profit of about RMB 1.36 billion in the same period last year. It cited falling selling prices for cement, ready-mix concrete and aggregates and lower sales volumes for ready-mix concrete and gypsum products; several subsidiaries also reported declines in revenue and profit.
