Cineplex reports strong revenue growth in Q1 2026, stock falls after missed EPS

Cineplex extends $100‑million US‑dollar credit facility to 2028 or 2029

Cineplex has extended the maturity of its revolving $100 million US‑dollar credit facility from 4 March 2027 to 18 September 2028 or, if existing senior notes are paid in full, to 18 March 2029. The amendment replaces the reference rate with term SOFR, confirms the ‘covenant‑lite’ structure and waives financial covenants as long as borrowings do not exceed 40% of the facility. As of 31 December 2025 the facility was unused, with $7.7 million reserved for letters of credit. Cineplex misses Q4 forecasts by a wide margin, stock under pressure

Cineplex reported a Q4 loss per share of -0.05 CAD versus an expected 0.2977 CAD and revenue of 334.77 million CAD versus a projected 368 million CAD, weighing on the stock by 1.51%. Despite the quarterly setback, the company raised box office revenue per patron to 13.87 CAD and achieved total 2025 revenue of 1.2 billion CAD (+0.8%).
