Cohort wins €140.7m submarine contract with Poland, shares rise

ELAC SONAR, Cohort's German subsidiary, was selected by Saab as the supplier of integrated sonar systems for Poland's Orka submarine programme. The contract is worth €140.7m, work begins immediately and deliveries are planned through the mid-2030s; the contract is expected to have a positive impact on adjusted earnings per share from the next financial year. Cohort beats earnings forecasts after strong export growth

Cohort reported adjusted earnings per share of £0.62, beating analysts’ expectation of £0.60, with revenue up 13% mainly thanks to the Communications and Intelligence division. Pre-tax profit of £32.60m was below the consensus of £34.51m, while basic earnings per share were £0.52. Revenue growth was driven by increased exports to NATO countries (Europe, Australia, Germany); the Sensors and Effectors division saw flat revenue and lower profit.
