Eisai beats Q1 sales forecast, stock still falls 3.6%

Eisai reported Q1 2026 sales up 15.6% to ¥234.3 billion, operating income of ¥24.7 billion (+19.2%) and net profit of ¥18.2 billion (+26%), with revenue about 9.5% above the forecast. Growth was driven mainly by LENVIMA, DAYVIGO and LEQEMBI, and management said the commercial business reached profitability for the first time excluding R&D costs for LEQEMBI. The stock fell 3.56% despite the results as investors weighed higher R&D and SG&A spending and uncertainty over the sustainable commercialization of LEQEMBI. EMA accepts approval application for Eisai sleep drug lemborexant

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has accepted Eisai’s application to approve lemborexant for the treatment of chronic insomnia in adults for review. Lemborexant is a dual orexin receptor antagonist that shortens time to fall asleep and reduces nocturnal awakenings. Eisai receives FDA approval for weekly subcutaneous Lecanemab injection

The FDA approved the supplemental indication for a once-weekly subcutaneous loading dose of Lecanemab (LEQEMBI IQLIK) from Eisai for treatment of early-stage Alzheimer’s disease. The treatment is delivered via an autoinjector as two 250 mg injections (500 mg total); maintenance is a weekly 360 mg dose. Studies showed subcutaneous administration achieves comparable exposure and a similar safety profile to intravenous dosing, potentially enabling at‑home treatment and fewer clinic visits.
