European Opportunities Trust approves voluntary liquidation
Shareholders of the European Opportunities Trust voted 99.98% in favour of a voluntary liquidation as part of a restructuring. Derek Neil Hyslop and Richard Peter Barker were appointed joint liquidators and the reclassified shares have been suspended from the Official List and from trading in London. Depending on their choice, shareholders may receive JPMorgan European Growth & Income (JEGI) shares (6.501139 JEGI per reclassified A share), shares of the LT European Opportunities Fund (LEO) (9.648046 LEO per reclassified B share, valued at 100 pence) or a cash compensation (940.685262 pence per reclassified C share). The directors have established a liquidation pool including a reserve of £100,000 for unknown liabilities; remaining amounts will be paid to shareholders provided individual sums exceed £5. European Opportunities Trust: shareholders vote for JEGI rollover, trading suspended
The European Opportunities Trust publishes the result of the shareholder vote on the restructuring: 58.0% chose the JEGI rollover option (receiving shares of JPMorgan European Growth & Income), 22.9% chose the LEO rollover option and 19.1% opted for a cash payment. Share trading has been suspended and CREST settlement deactivated. Two interim dividends are to be paid on 3 August; the second general meeting and the plan’s implementation are scheduled for 7 August.
