Genus increases profit forecast for FY26 to around £98m and shares rise

Genus forecasts an adjusted pre-tax profit of around £98m for fiscal 2026, beating consensus estimates. The positive revision reflects a stronger-than-expected second half, with robust growth in the pig genetics business (PIC) in Asia and Latin America and double-digit profit growth at the cattle genetics division (ABS) thanks to the Value Acceleration Programme. The company also reports very strong cash conversion, material free cash flow growth and a strengthened balance sheet heading into FY27. Genus reports adjusted profit growth of 57% for H1 2026 on flat revenue of £335.6m; adjusted pre-tax profit rose to £55.7m and adjusted earnings per share to 60.8p. Genus exceeds expectations and raises 2026 outlook

Genus reported a strong first half of 2026 with an adjusted pre-tax profit of around £50.0m (excluding a milestone payment) or about £55.6m including the milestone. Management now expects a full-year adjusted pre-tax profit to be moderately above the top end of current market expectations (£82.7–85.0m). In December Genus received SASAC approval for the China pig genetics joint venture, triggering a $7.5m (approximately £5.6m) milestone payment; formation and payment are expected in Q3.
