Guardant Health announced that EviCore by Evernorth has added the Shield blood test for colorectal cancer early detection to its clinical guidelines effective January 1, 2027. Reimbursement will apply to insured individuals aged 45 and older at average risk, expanding the covered population to about 94 million people across 23 states. Shield is FDA-cleared for primary screening using methylation partitioning cell-free DNA technology; a positive result requires follow-up colonoscopy.
