Hamburger Hafen und Logistik cuts EBIT forecast for 2026

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik has lowered its forecast for operating profit (EBIT) in 2026: group-wide EBIT is now expected at €115–135 million (previously €150–170 million), and for the port logistics sub-group €100–120 million (previously €135–155 million). Reasons cited are a non-cash write-down of about €12 million in the logistics segment, strike-related outages and the ramp-up of further automation, which are weighing on container handling more than expected. HHLA: warning strikes hit port operations and increase pressure for automation

Verdi is carrying out 48-hour warning strikes in the ports after union members rejected an employer offer of 5.1 percent over 18 months. The stoppages are weighing on already weaker throughput in Hamburg, where HHLA recorded a 7.3 percent decline in the first half of 2026. HHLA hit by warning strike in the Port of Hamburg, shares little changed

A 48‑hour warning strike has begun in Hamburg, involving employees at HHLA container terminals Altenwerder, Burchardkai and Tollerort. Verdi is demanding 8.2% more pay in the wage negotiations (at least €2.50 per hour) after rejecting the employers' offer of 5.1% backdated to 1 August.
