Irish Continental Group increases revenue by 16% and suspends interim dividend

Irish Continental Group posted first-half revenue of €359.9m (+16.1%). Operating profit and profit before tax fell slightly, diluted earnings per share rose to 12.5 cents, and EBITDA increased to €58.9m. Net debt rose to €176.5m, weighed down by higher fuel, environmental and port and ship operating costs. BidCo considers takeover offer for Irish Continental Group final

Bluefin Bidco Limited said it will not increase the financial terms of its recommended cash offer for Irish Continental Group and regards them as final. Adjustments are only possible if a third party announces an offer or the Irish Takeover Panel consents; the consideration may be reduced by dividends or repayments announced before the takeover. The offer is structured as a High Court‑sanctioned Scheme of Arrangement. Irish Continental Group accepts management buyout of €1.2bn

Irish Continental Group has agreed to a management-led takeover offer from Bluefin Bidco worth about €1.2bn. Bluefin is offering €8.00 per share in cash, a 28.2% premium to the closing price; the independent board unanimously recommends the offer. Management currently holds roughly 23.7% of the shares, is selling about one third for €90m and is contributing the remainder into the takeover structure, supplying around 30% of the combined equity.
