Kier Group posts record order book and net cash position for first time since 2012

Kier reported for the 2026 financial year a revenue increase of 7.5% to £4.4bn and an adjusted operating result of £170m. The order book climbed to a record £11.9bn and the company achieved an average net cash position of £11m — its first positive annual net cash since 2012. Kier wins £500m contract to modernise Hinchingbrooke Hospital

Kier has been selected as the lead construction partner for the redevelopment of Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Cambridgeshire; the contract is worth around £500 million. The project is part of the first phase of the NHS Hospital 2.0 Alliance under the New Hospital Programme; main construction work is due to start in 2028 and finish in 2032. Kier confirms raised outlook; trading update pushes stock higher

Kier said in the trading update that revenue and profit for the fiscal year ending 30 June 2026 are expected to be at the top end of analysts' forecasts. Momentum continued in the second half, driven by water projects and contracts in motorway and rail construction as well as large projects such as the new-build HMP Glasgow. The order book rose 8% to £11.9bn, Panmure Liberum kept its buy recommendation, and an ongoing buyback programme (4.7m shares) strengthens the capital base.
