Kirkland's Home to close 25 stores by January, will not convert to Bed Bath & Beyond
Brand House Collective said it will close 25 Kirkland's Home locations by January due to lease expirations and those stores will not be included in a two-year conversion plan. The company sold Kirkland's intellectual property to Bed Bath & Beyond for $10 million, with about 250 storefronts targeted for conversion as Bed Bath & Beyond expands its comeback. Confirmed closures so far include multiple sites in California, plus locations in Florida and New Jersey; Bed Bath & Beyond’s leadership has said it will not open physical stores in California. The move reflects a selective consolidation of Kirkland's physical footprint while enabling Bed Bath & Beyond to scale its store rollout. » Plus sur yahoo.com
Aldi explains why its Kirkwood meat stays so cheap
Aldi keeps meat prices low through store-brand sourcing (Kirkwood), regional suppliers and outsourcing slicing/packaging to vendors, low staffing and frequent sales. Some U.K. supply links to Moy Park and Hook 2 Park have raised animal welfare concerns, while U.S. beef likely comes from major processors such as JBS USA, Tyson Foods Inc, Cargill Inc and National Beef Packing Company. Experts note store-brand strategy and competition help push wholesale contracts and lower retail prices. » Plus sur yahoo.com
