Lindt wins: court bars Aldi from selling red chocolate balls
The Commercial Court of Aargau prohibited Aldi from distributing the red "Moser Roth" balls in Switzerland because their design amounted to an impermissible imitation of Lindt-Lindor. Aldi must also provide information on quantities and sales of the affected red balls so any damages can be calculated. The court, however, dismissed Lindt’s suit regarding the blue balls and the "Délice" series. The partial ruling is not final and can be appealed to the Federal Court. » Plus sur finanzen.net
Lindt raises prices for Gold Bunnies despite sharply falling cocoa prices
Lindt has noticeably raised the prices for its Gold Bunnies: for example, the 100‑gram Gold Bunny rose from €4.29 to up to €4.99. Consumer advocates criticize the markups as not justified by raw material prices, since cocoa prices have recently fallen sharply. Lindt points to delayed effects on its cost structure as well as higher expenses for regulation, sustainability, energy, packaging and transport. » Plus sur stern.de
Lindt raises prices for chocolate Easter bunnies despite sharply falling cocoa prices
Branded chocolate Easter bunnies from Lindt are noticeably more expensive this year, with prices increasing by up to around 25 percent depending on the product (e.g. 200 g Goldhase for €8.99, 100 g from €4.29 to €4.99). Verbraucherzentrale Hamburg criticizes the hikes as incomprehensible, since the raw cocoa price has fallen sharply over the past year. Manufacturers provide little information; consumer advocates suspect margin increases and advise shoppers to look for special offers. » Plus sur stern.de
