Mitsubishi Motors misses Q1 forecasts by a wide margin despite higher operating profit
For the quarter ending in June, Mitsubishi Motors reported EPS of $1.05 (consensus $4.09) and revenue of ¥619.86 billion (consensus ¥681.62 billion), with both metrics clearly missing analyst expectations. Operating profit rose 80% to ¥10.1 billion, while global sales fell 8% to 179,000 units. Mitsubishi Motors plans production and deployment of humanoid robots
Mitsubishi Motors has signed a letter of intent with startup Highlanders to introduce humanoid robots in its plants for tasks such as parts transport and engine assembly. From 2027, production of the robots is to begin in unused buildings at the Kyoto plant, with a targeted capacity of 1,000 units per month. The company has already invested in Highlanders and is considering increasing its stake and a possible external sale of the robots. Mitsubishi Motors misses EPS forecast in Q4 2025, revenue exceeds expectations
Mitsubishi Motors reported Q4 2025 EPS of 10.83 Yen versus a forecast of 14.71 Yen (‑26.38%), while revenue of 920 billion Yen beat the expected 847.41 billion Yen by 8.57%. Operating profit fell 46% year‑on‑year to 75.5 billion Yen, and net income was 10 billion Yen. After‑hours the stock rose 6.13%, supported by the stronger revenue and the outlook.
