S&P Global Ratings has raised its outlook for MTN Group from “stable” to “positive” and affirmed the issuer ratings at BB‑ (global) and zaAA+ (national South Africa). The move is justified by declining country risks after positive rating actions for South Africa and Nigeria, although the strong concentration in those markets (around 60% of EBITDA in 2025) continues to limit the ratings.
