National CineMedia has acquired a majority stake in Captivate, the digital out-of-home advertising network with more than 26,000 screens in 170 markets in the US and Canada. Captivate had been owned by Generation Partners since 2013, which modernized the company’s technology and expanded the network into office and residential properties. Financial and legal advisers were named on both sides; the financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
