Shein disappoints in Hong Kong IPO
Shein began trading in Hong Kong with share price losses and, at an issue price of 48.56 HKD, was valued at about $26.5 billion—well below earlier valuations of up to roughly $100 billion. Growth has slowed sharply: in the first quarter revenue grew by about 1% and a $99 million loss emerged, while annual profit recently fell to around $2 billion. Shein plans to invest in infrastructure and supply chains but is under pressure from higher costs, margin erosion and measures such as the EU customs levy on small parcels; investor focus is also shifting to chips, AI and robotics. » Plus sur tagesschau.de
