Getty has terminated the merger agreement with Shutterstock even though the UK competition authority CMA had approved the deal with conditions. The CMA granted approval on the condition that Shutterstock sell its editorial business to an approved buyer. The sale process was at an advanced stage when Getty announced the termination.
