Tele Columbus opens its fiber network to 1&1 and connects transport network to regional infrastructure

Tele Columbus has agreed a partnership with 1&1 under which 1&1 will link its fiber transport network to Tele Columbus’s regional networks, including future expansion areas. Tele Columbus will focus going forward on fiber (FTTH) and expects higher network utilization through wholesale sales, albeit with lower margins than direct retail. Tele Columbus: core network data volume rose to 2.44 exabytes in 2025

Tele Columbus reports a transported data volume in its core network of 2.44 exabytes for 2025, an increase of about 19% versus 2024. Average data usage per customer was 325 GB per month (+6.6%). The growth is attributed to increased use of IP-based services and customer growth in internet and telephony; seasonal peaks occurred mainly in autumn and winter. Tele Columbus increases internet customer numbers, TV households continue to decline

Tele Columbus reports 730,000 internet customers for the third quarter, up 7.3%, and a 10.6% increase in internet and telephony revenue to €59.2 million. Around 50% of Pyur’s new customers chose data rates of 500 MBit/s or higher (current price €25/month). The number of TV households fell year-on-year by 4.9% to 1.06 million. EBIT deteriorated to a loss of €55 million; for 2025 the company expects slightly lower revenues, a slightly higher EBITDA and significantly lower investments. » Plus sur golem.de
