TELUS launches AI-powered SmartHome assistant with generative user interface

TELUS has unveiled an AI-powered SmartHome assistant with a generative user interface that processes speech, images, sensor data and video in real time to create personalized interfaces. The system supports more than 2,000 device models from various brands and will be rolled out to SmartHome+ customers in Canada in the coming weeks. Features include visual automation via voice commands, photo-based troubleshooting and camera video retrieval; tools for internet management and screen time control will follow later. TELUS misses Q4 forecasts, stock falls

TELUS reported Q4 2025 EPS of $0.20 (expectation $0.25) and revenue of $5.23 billion (expectation $5.40 billion), after which the stock fell about 2.12% in pre-market trading. For fiscal 2025 the company reported record free cash flow of CAD 2.2 billion and adjusted EBITDA growth of 3.1%. For 2026 TELUS expects service revenue growth of 2–4%, adjusted EBITDA growth of 2–4%, roughly CAD 2.45 billion in free cash flow, and a reduction in capital intensity to 10%.
