Vietnam Enterprise Investments approves buyback offer with 99.68% approval

Shareholders of Vietnam Enterprise Investments have approved the company’s buyback offer with 99.68% of the votes in favour (106,308,339 yes to 338,499 no). The acceptance period ends on 15 January 2026; results will be published on 16 January and the buyback price announced on 20 January. Payments for uncertificated shares tendered will be made via CREST on 22 January; transfers in specie and issuance of VEF shares for elected options are scheduled for 23 and 27 January, respectively. Vietnam Enterprise Investments records NAV recovery of 27.7% after half-year decline

Vietnam Enterprise Investments reported a decline in NAV per share in pounds of 7.7% for the first half of 2025 (in USD -2.3%), but saw a strong recovery of 27.7% from 30 June to 31 August and outperformed the benchmark by around 4%. The first-half underperformance was attributed to capital outflows following Trump’s original tariff plan and an underweight versus Vingroup; the domestically oriented portfolio benefited from the subsequent agreement on a lower tariff level. Vietnam grew 7.7% in H1 2025; the fund holds core positions in banks, real estate and consumer names.
