VietNam Holding: net asset value falls 9.8% in July

VietNam Holding reported a 9.8% decline in net asset value for July 2026, underperforming the Vietnam All Share Index (-7.5%). The decline was driven mainly by the share-price collapse of Phu Nhuan Jewelry (PNJ) after allegations regarding diamond certificates; VNH subsequently reduced its PNJ position. VietNam Holding recorded a NAV decline of 0.3% in June. According to the manager, the portfolio is valued at about 10 times forecast earnings, the ten largest positions at roughly 8.5 times, despite projected earnings growth of around 20%. VietNam Holding: Vietnam grows 7.83% in Q1 2026, VNH NAV rises in April

VietNam Holding reports Vietnam's GDP grew 7.83% in the first quarter of 2026. Exports increased by 19.7% in the first four months, imports by 28.7%, resulting in a trade deficit driven by machinery imports and intermediate goods. Retail sales, FDI (USD 18.2bn; +32%) and double-digit profit growth at portfolio companies signalled robust activity, while inflation rose to around 5.5% in April due to higher energy costs.
