AMD increases market share and posts record data-center revenue

AMD reported record quarterly revenue of $11.5 billion in the second quarter, driven by the data-center segment, whose revenues more than doubled year over year. According to Mercury Research, AMD’s x86 CPU market share climbed to 34.1 percent, server share is around 34.5 percent, and the client business is above 30 percent. Analysts see significant upside for AMD with an average price target of over $585.
