From next spring, 30 newly procured Regiolis trains from Alstom will be gradually deployed on border routes between eastern France and Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland. The entry into service was delayed due to additional approval and brake tests in Germany; these tests are expected to be completed by the end of the year. ETCS installations on lines and crossings are planned for late 2025 to early 2026, and from the end of 2027 more frequent services and new direct connections are planned.
