Enphase has rolled out an AI assistant in its mobile app that answers homeowners’ questions about solar generation, battery use, consumption and grid interactions. The tool uses system-specific app data, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation and verified knowledge sources, provides explanations and can, if needed, escalate to customer support. Changes to system settings or battery operating profiles require the user’s confirmation before being applied. Enphase is introducing the IQ System Controller 3 and the IQ EV Charger 2 in Italy, allowing owners of IQ Battery 5P systems to integrate backup power functions and electric vehicle charging. The controller supports three-phase supply, secures loads up to 80 amps per phase and complies with CEI 0-21 requirements; installers can use an app to select which circuits are supplied during an outage. The IQ EV Charger 2 adapts charging to available solar production and begins charging when there is roughly 1.4 kW of solar surplus. Enphase introduces Kestrel, a fifth-generation ASIC in 22‑nm CMOS that integrates control hardware, four 100 MS/s ADCs, PLC and LVDS controllers, hardware-assisted isolation, and cryptography and secure-boot features on a single platform. The chip supports bidirectional GaN switches, cycle-accurate measurements in the nanosecond range, and enables sub-millisecond settling times and certificate-based security in products such as microinverters, IQ battery systems, IQ EV chargers and the IQ semiconductor transformer.
