At the annual meeting of the American Society of Retina Specialists, Harrow presented data on IHEEZO (chloroprocaine gel) and the biosimilar BYOOVIZ. Investigators reported that IHEEZO was associated with tended-to-be less pain and fewer ocular symptoms after intravitreal injections; a retrospective analysis showed no increased risk of endophthalmitis. Samsung Bioepis is restarting the US reintroduction of the ophthalmology biosimilar BYOOVIZ (ranibizumab-nuna) in partnership with Harrow, which will handle US commercial distribution. Distribution rights had been returned from Biogen to Samsung Bioepis at the end of 2025; Samsung Bioepis will remain responsible for development, approval and manufacturing.
