ING Groep introduces subscription-based banking model in the Netherlands
ING Groep has launched a subscription-based banking model in the Netherlands that replaces pay-per-product fees with tiered monthly packages bundling banking, insurance and additional services like streaming. The model, already used in Belgium, Romania and Poland, will be rolled out across remaining European markets by mid-2027. ING introduces paid current accounts with integrated Prime and Disney+ subscriptions
ING is offering four new paid current account plans in several countries that integrate subscription services such as Amazon Prime or Disney+ to make accounts more attractive. The plans are already running in Belgium, Poland, Romania and the Netherlands; ING plans to expand to Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia and Turkey but has not given dates or details for Germany. ING reduces stake in TMBThanachart Bank after share sale
ING Groep sold TTB shares worth €243 million, reducing its stake from 23.1% to 19.5%. The bank stresses it remains a significant shareholder and values the partnership.
