VW introduces the ID.Polo GTI as the first all-electric GTI version with a base price of €40,000 and raised the top speed to 190 km/h at customers' request. Volkswagen’s UK finance arm has booked £725 million in its annual accounts to cover potential costs of an FCA compensation scheme over excessive fees on car loans. The scheme, which covers cases dating back to 2007, is partially suspended and remains subject to court clarification. Volkswagen is responding to a roughly 26% drop in sales in China and is setting its long-term annual capacity to an average of nine million vehicles. The group has already cut two million units of capacity and plans further reductions of 500,000 each in China and Europe. For 2026, VW lowered its forecast for the operating margin to at most 1%, weighed down by one-off effects of around €10 billion; on an adjusted basis the margin would be about 4%.
