J.P. Morgan raises Aperam to overweight and names €57 price target

J.P. Morgan upgraded Aperam from neutral to overweight and set a €57 price target, implying upside potential of 21%. The bank expects that the EU import quotas for stainless steel, reduced since July 1, will support a price recovery and forecasts EBITDA of €757m for 2027, about 7% above consensus. For 2027 J.P. Aperam meets Q1 expectations and expects significantly higher EBITDA in Q2

Aperam reported adjusted Q1 EBITDA of €90m, slightly above analysts’ expectations of €87m and well up from €67m in the prior quarter, driven by a recovery in Europe and valuation effects. Segment contributions: Stainless & Electrical Steel €35m, Services & Solutions €20m, Alloys & Specialties €27m and Recycling & Renewables €23m. Free cash flow was negative €44m, net debt stood at €1.057bn; the savings program delivered €18m of savings in the quarter. Aperam introduces steel grade 316A as certified, cost-effective alternative to 316L

Aperam has launched the new, patented austenitic grade 316A, which offers comparable corrosion resistance and mechanical properties to 316L but is more cost-efficient with over 75% less molybdenum. The material is certified, available in wide dimensions for immediate use, and replaces 316L without adjustment of production parameters or tools. 316A uses a higher share of recycled content to support the EU taxonomy and has been tested for applications ranging from HVAC and food production to CCUS and electrolysis plants. » Więcej na finanzen.net
