Bridgestone under pressure after Goldman Sachs downgrade

Goldman Sachs downgraded Bridgestone from "Buy" to "Neutral" and only slightly raised the price target from 3,600 to 3,650 JPY. The stock fell 1.1% to 3,465 yen as the shares trade close to the revised target and global passenger-car tire demand is largely stagnant. Although Goldman Sachs marginally raised operating profit forecasts for 2026–2028, it sees limited near-term upside. Bridgestone reorganizes leadership structure in North America

Bridgestone separates the role of West CEO from Group President, North America and names Robert Johnson Group President, North America with full profit-and-loss responsibility for the tire business in North America. Scott Damon remains West CEO; Wade Sempkowski succeeds Johnson as West Chief Financial Officer. Bridgestone beats forecasts, stock falls despite strong quarterly results

Bridgestone reported Q4 2025 EPS of 94.63 JPY and revenue of 1,194.53 billion JPY, both well above expectations. Adjusted operating profit and full-year revenue also rose, supported by cost cuts and supply-chain optimizations. Despite the positive figures, the stock fell about 6% after the release as investors fear tariffs, currency effects and regional demand risks.
