At the Jefferies conference EnerSys announced a focus on specialized markets such as data centers, aerospace and defense, as well as selective growth investments. The company is building a lithium production facility in Greenville (net capital requirement ~USD 500m) as a strategic response to supply-chain risks in the defense sector and plans a capacity of about 1 GWh per year. Financial targets remain revenue growth of 4–8% p.a., margin expansion of 50–100 basis points and free-cash-flow conversion of 80–100%; acquisitions remain part of the strategy. EnerSys has unveiled the immediately available lithium energy storage system DataSafe Noir, designed for high-density hyperscale and colocation data centers. The company says the system delivers more than double the output power and about 1.7 times higher energy and capacity compared with publicly available competitor specifications, and emphasizes system performance under variable loads, including AI workloads.
