Julius Bär nominates two women to the board of directors
Julius Bär proposes Caroline Kuhnert and Elaine Arden for election to the board of directors; the vote is planned at the general meeting in April 2027. Kuhnert brings about 20 years of experience in wealth management at UBS and expertise in private banking and the Swiss market. Arden was head of HR at HSBC and the Royal Bank of Scotland and is expected to add skills in cultural change, compensation, talent development and succession planning. Julius Bär announces share buyback of 600 million francs
Julius Bär is launching a share buyback program of up to 600 million francs, which will start in the coming weeks and is expected to be completed within a year. Finma approved the buyback after closing its enforcement proceeding related to Signa losses and had previously lifted relaxed immediate measures. The Swiss financial regulator Finma has closed its proceedings against Julius Bär and found serious breaches in risk management and anti-money laundering controls. Julius Bär confirmed the closure and has filed an application with Finma to resume share buybacks; the stock rose about eight percent.
