The federal government sees Commerzbank and Unicredit in a new, concrete negotiating phase of a possible merger. Analysts have raised dividend forecasts for Commerzbank by about 23% on average since the start of the year to €1.59 per share for the payout after the AGM in May 2027 (previous year €1.10). The reason is sharply rising profits (H1 net profit €1.8 billion, Q2 nearly €900 million), with analysts estimating 2026 net profit at around €3.5 billion on average.
