At fiber producer Lenzing, the unusually high water temperature of Lake Attersee (currently around 24°C) and increasing water scarcity are causing production problems at the Lenzing site. The company denies rumours of an impending production halt and stresses that production is running as planned, but it is closely monitoring the hydrological situation and in contact with authorities. A planned intake from cooler deep-water layers has not yet been implemented, so short-term operational adjustments and accelerated maintenance could be used as responses.
