Onex urges investors to value earnings power rather than NAV
CEO Bobby Le Blanc said at the Scotiabank Financials Summit that Onex has repaired the balance sheet, reduced net debt to zero after the Convex transaction and cut private-equity exposure by 19 percentage points since the start of 2024. Convex now represents about 45% of invested capital and is presented as the biggest value driver with high return potential and scalability. Onex expects fee-related revenue of roughly CAD 35 million for the year, has resumed share buybacks and is looking for 1–2 further direct investments over the next 3–5 years, mainly in the financial services sector. Management emphasizes that investors should henceforth judge the stock by earnings performance; if the revaluation does not occur, sum-of-the-parts measures or accelerated buybacks could be possible. » Więcej na de.investing.com

Onex reduced the net asset value loan to USD 220 million, grew fee-generating AUM to USD 43.2 billion and plans to resume share buybacks once legally cleared. The private equity business showed mixed results; Onex remains focused on further growth in the credit and structured credit businesses and on fundraising for Onex Partners VI. » Więcej na de.investing.com
Onex Q1 2026: insurance arm Convex drives profit, shares fall
Onex reported strong Q1 2026 results, led by insurance platform Convex and robust capital generation in private equity and credit. Convex saw significant revenue growth and gross written premiums rose 5% year-on-year; Convex is valued at $4bn. The credit platform posted a negative return of 3% due to mark-to-market losses on CLO equity positions. Invested capital stood at $9.4bn, invested capital per share increased 1% on an adjusted basis, and the share fell 3.15% to $112.94 after the results. Onex provided EPS guidance of $9.67 for 2026 and $11.24 for 2027 and plans portfolio adjustments to reduce earnings volatility. » Więcej na de.investing.com
