The consortium forms the Greenlight Electricity Centre Limited Partnership and views gas power generation as a new demand outlet for Western Canadian hydrocarbons. Pembina has signed a non-binding term sheet to participate in a new crude oil pipeline system with about 1 million barrels per day capacity and an export terminal, together with the Canadian government, the province of Alberta and Trans Mountain. The planned project company is to be majority-owned by the government, Alberta and Pembina, with an ownership stake reserved for Indigenous partners; Trans Mountain will take on construction, permitting and operation. Pembina Pipeline beat analyst expectations in the first quarter of 2026 with earnings per share of USD 0.5821 versus the USD 0.52 forecast and revenue of USD 1.52 billion.
