Seanergy has chartered and bought two Capesize newbuilds of 181,500 dwt with scrubber equipment from a Japanese shipyard: one newbuild for delivery between Q2 and Q3 2027 and a second vessel under a 10-year bareboat charter with delivery in Q1 2029 and a purchase option. The combined acquisition cost amounts to about $158 million (if the option is exercised) and expands the newbuild program to five ships with a total value of roughly $384 million. At the same time, Seanergy is selling the 2010-built M/V Squireship to United Maritime Corporation for $29.5 million; net proceeds after debt repayment are estimated at about $13.5 million and will result in a book gain of around $4 million in Q2. The company maintained 96% fleet utilization, a 43% loan-to-value ratio and executed a fleet renewal plan securing three high‑spec newbuildings while selling older tonnage. Seanergy Maritime has sold the Capesize vessel M/V Geniuship to an independent buyer for approximately 21.6 million USD. After repaying a loan, the transaction generated a net cash inflow of about 12.0 million USD and is expected to produce a book gain of around 2.5 million USD in the third quarter. The sale relieves the company’s liquidity pressure given a debt load of 307.94 million USD and a current ratio of 0.39.
